DAY FOUR
On the way to Waitomo, our next stop, Bodhi began bus games, where essentially the losing group would be cut in half each game til we were left with just two people. The first game split the bus in half and had us passing up random items like a Lonely Planet book, an ipod and a photo of someone not ourselves. I'm sad to say that my side of the bus the "Loosey Lefties" lost. But it was fun and the subsequent games just got more fun. More importantly though, it kicked off the bus-bonding (bonding may be too strong of a word be eh). It was then that Team America met Claire, Dee (Irish accountants travelling for 20 weeks), Roger (Dutch guy) and Patrick (German guy). Those four would provide endless hours of entertainment for the remainder of the trip through their fabulous accents (ha! the Irish girls!) the language barrier (Roger) and generally entertaining personalities (all).

Once we got close to Waitomo, Bodhi got on the PA system in the bus and told us he had heard a rumor about a place where we could see them shear angora rabbits. Sure enough, the shearing shed was just up the road, and it was our lucky day: it was free. All 35 of us piled out of the bus, into this little shed/store place and watched a bunny have his fur trimmed. It looked a little painful to be totally honest but the ladies running the show assured us it was not. And thing I did not know about angora bunny rabbits: they can only mate when freshly sheared b/c otherwise they are too hot to put forth the energy. It was at this moment that I decided shearing the bunny was probably A-OK by him too.
Cheers!
